In the 1580s, Pope Gregory and his priests created a new calendar. Now knowns as the Gregorian calendar, it is more attuned to the natural cycles than the Julian calendar. Gregory and the crew studied the motion of the stars, the moon and the sun. Their brilliance was to introduce a leap day every four years to correctly match the seasons and remove a leap day every hundred years to eliminate the overcorrection and add a leap day every four hundred years to eliminate the under correction.
They did this in the 1580s!!!
I wish all you guys a fabulous 2019! I hope you get to do some epic s*** this year!
